This provides a good margin to keep the engine running under load from the alternator and at higher altitudes and hotter days where the engine makes less power. I have assigned keyboard buttons to speed, heading, and altitude which work well except the altitude, unlike the other 2 that one does not scroll quickly when the keyboard button is held down. EG rotating the altitude knob often adjusts the vertical speed instead.
